  Learn NY is a coalition of over 16,000 reform-minded New York City public school parents and over 80 non-profit and community groups who have joined together to ensure that every child receives the high-quality education they deserve. We helped bring parents to the table to advocate for the renewal of mayoral control, a governance system that has brought unprecedented accountability and improvements to our schools. Currently we are supporting New York’s efforts to qualify for the Obama Administration’s Race to the Top program, in which an unprecedented $4 billion will go to states that enact certain reforms that are critical to improving schools. And because we believe that parent engagement and activism are critical to an effective school system, we are helping parents develop the skills they need to effectively advocate for their children and providing them with tools and resources that drive greater parent involvement in education. Working hand-in-hand with parents, school leaders and community organizations, Learn NY aims to be a powerful voice in the debate about how to continue progress in our schools. Together, we are making sure that our children have better schools and brighter futures. |
